I actually discovered Chat Pile fairly early on in their existence. It was during the first phase of the pandemic when I came across their EP Remove Your Skin Please while digging around online. Dallas Beltway and Mask opened up a whole new world for me and immediately pulled me in.
With their wonderfully strange Tenkiller soundtrack (2022) and the brilliant God’s Country (2022), Chat Pile became a permanent fixture in my little musical universe. When Cool World arrived in 2024, I honestly thought they had already made their defining record. Until now.

BESIDES THAT
I have no idea what possessed me at the time, but for some reason I decided against seeing them live in Cologne. I think they played at Luxor, sometime in 2024 or 2025. Now they’re coming back in early 2027, quite rightly to a bigger venue. And this time, I’ll be there.
